Psychotherapy focuses on deep processes which affect how we think, feel and behave. Gestalt is a holistic approach, where each individual is seen as a unique combination of mind, body, emotions and spirit. As a humanistic therapy, Gestalt views every individual as the best expert on themselves, and as having the capacity to live a satisfying and creative life in rewarding contact with others. Sometimes this natural state gets interrupted and we become stuck in fixed patterns. As a Gestalt practitioner, my aim is to bring these patterns into awareness by focusing on the here-and-now, and paying attention to emotions, bodily signs, sensations, breathing, and memories of the past as they arise in the present.
